Packaging Disposal Guidelines
Here's the breakdown of our packaging:
- Our unit cartons are made in an FSC and SFI certified facility that uses 100% wind energy and have a water based coating which makes them 100% recyclable.
- The tissue paper we use in our packages is recyclable, however you should check with your local facilities to see if they are able to recycle it. Because our tissue paper does not have glitter or a shiny coating, you can also compost it!
- Our brand cards are currently not recyclable because of the plastic coating printed on them. We are exploring vendors to make our brand cards 100% recyclable in the future.
- Our eyeliner component is made from plastic, and cannot be recycled through regular curbside recycling practices. We leverage TerraCycle to offer a recycling program that ensures our products are melted down, and turned into pellets that can be molded and extruded to produce new products.
After you receive your package from Kulfi, take the following steps:
- Reuse your tissue paper for gifts, or place it in your recycling bin as long as your local facility recycles it. If not, throw it in your compost bin. The tissue paper can actually be a healthy addition to a compost pile because it absorbs excess moisture generated by food waste and bioplastics.
- Up-cycle our unit cartons or toss them in the recycling.
- Keep your brand card for decoration, up-cycle them, or toss it.
- Save your shipping box to reuse for a future shipment or gift wrapping, toss it so that it can degrade in the landfill, or recycle it if your local recycling facility accepts them!
- After you have finished your Kulfi products, save it up until you have 5 empties. Once you have 5, email support@kulfibeauty.com for a free return label. Once we receive them we send them to TerraCycle to ensure they are melted down, and turned into pellets that can be molded and extruded to produce new products!
